Bushcraft Fundamentals I : Knifemanship & Woodworking
Knifemanship (the ability to efficiently, proficiently, and safely use and maintain a knife), is a critical skill that forms the core of our primitive and wilderness skills. There was a time when carving, whittling, and general knifemanship was an essential skill for every day self reliance. With the emergence of “bushcraft” and “survival” as a mainstream phenomenon, the humble knife is once again receiving the honor and respect it deserves as one of the most important and versatile tools in human history. Join us in reclaiming this essential skill set! In this workshop, you will:
- Learn the fundamentals of the ideal bushcraft field knife and how to care for, repair, and maintain it.
- Develop your ability to hone and sharpen your knife to a razor’s edge without the use of angle guides and jigs
- Practice essential wood working techniques commonly used in bushcraft
- Discover the secrets of safely cutting and splitting large pieces of wood using only a basic field knife.

Cancellation and Refund Policies
A great deal of staff time and expense is invested into the preparation and organization of individual classes. It is difficult and oftentimes impossible to recover costs and/or find a student to replace a cancelled registrant and so our cancellation and refund policies reflect this. Full refunds, minus $15 administrative fee for single day classes and a $30 admin fee for multi-day classes, are given to registrants who cancel with at least 7 days notice of the event. Cancellations made less than 7 days of the event forfeit a refund.
