Bushcraft Fundamentals II : Fiber, Cordage, & Essential Knots
Before the invention of clips, carabiners, nails, staples, high strength polymer adhesives and industrial resins, humans relied on plant and animal fibers to and natural glues to bind, wrap, fix, and tie every day essentials.
The ability to attach two or more separate objects using only knowledge, your hands, and cordage, is a fundamental self reliance skill
In this workshop, you will:
- Learn how to identify, harvest, and process wild plant fibers for primitive cordage and weaving
- Practice braiding and twining techniques used by native peoples increase the length and strength of primitive cordage.
- Understand important differences in the various types of primitive and modern cordage and when/how to use them in wilderness and survival situations.
- Master a handful of essential knots that may, one day, save your life!
This is a relaxed class for adults and children in a beautiful, wild, outdoor environment. Children five years of age and under may attend free of charge with a registered adult.

Cancellation and Refund Policies
A great deal of staff time and expense is invested into the preparation and organization of individual classes. It is difficult and oftentimes impossible to recover costs and/or find a student to replace a cancelled registrant and so our cancellation and refund policies reflect this. Full refunds, minus $15 administrative fee for single day classes and a $30 admin fee for multi-day classes, are given to registrants who cancel with at least 7 days notice of the event. Cancellations made less than 7 days of the event forfeit a refund.
